Hi Matt. I recently picked up on this too, though couldn’t believe what I was seeing. This means that Monopolies and Mergers is also history. The New World Order of IM is about to begin. There will be collateral damage and massive casualties…

Luke Montana July 20, 2010 at 3:14 am

When the wave crashes everyone will find a new avenue to go down.
Remember people made Google what it is and people can destroy Google. I have seen it over and over, without people using a search engine the motor will freeze and eventually become just another has been.

Busy Man Fitness July 20, 2010 at 3:54 am

Hey Matt,

I always wondered why Google didn’t take advantage of this.

Thanks to all of our ads they know exactly what methods of advertising work and which do not.

Data mining through their own network is only the beginning. Cell phone targeting based on the consumer habits…there is so much more that they can do.

In a way, they are very crafty because our past advertising efforts have been used as the BETA version of any advertising they take over.

While Google’s motto may be, “Do no harm”, you can bet that there real motto is, “Make shareholders money”.

The economy has forced them into this position as well, I mean, if your advertising income slumped and it was the largest portion of your business revenues it only makes sense to take your own money and BECOME the advertisers yourself.

Wow! That’s some crazy info, thanks for sharing, Matt! I live in the Philippines, and tried the exact same search, didn’t get any of what you demonstrated, but I suppose it’s just a matter of time before this goes worldwide.

I’ve been seeing/reading about a LOT of changes with Google. Seems like they’re testing a whole bunch of things, tweaking major and minor things to how search works.

I agree with you though, especially for affiliate marketers, it’s only a matter of time. I guess there’s still SOME time for affiliates, but like you said, not long…

Look forward to more info from you.

Wow, quite an eye opening video…very sobering indeed.

Keep the information coming!

Hey Matt,

Great videos and I believe you are definitely correct. I am already all over making things happen right now because of these developments. Getting ready to unleash a stealth software for my own use that will automate part of the process, but will save a LOT of time and explode my efforts.

Brett VT July 20, 2010 at 5:42 am

Appreciate the video. I love stuff like this as it’s actually really exciting and spurs me to push even harder. I love nothing more than getting extra caffeinated and reading Fast Company or Inc (or an article like that) and realizing how much opportunity is there, how much cool stuff and awe inspiring stuff is happening…and that the time is NOW to think big and kick ass.

Keep this stuff coming…

David Wilson July 20, 2010 at 6:25 am

It looks like it time to ramp up everything and push back at Google

gayle July 20, 2010 at 7:50 am

Wow! This is pretty earthshaking. I’m questioning the patent to control and censor content–doesn’t that go against freedom of speech. Scary. I see that this is shafting the individual entrpreneur. Thank you for enlightening us!

Kurt July 20, 2010 at 8:11 am

Hey bud,

I just have to tell you that it really just pisses me off to no end to hear you say “it’s so easy to make money online now”….

I used to manage a Private Equity Fund… all be it a small one ($100 Million) and I lost my job when the market took a dump two years ago and since then I have spent 12 hours a day trying to crack the code on making money online…. and here I am still making nothing almost two years later!

I’m not a dumb guy…. this stuff is very frustrating!

I bought your CPA Ninja course as well as $15k worth of other products… lost over $20k in PPC expenses… etc…

It’s not that I haven’t swung the bat….

Now my resources are tapped and here I sit… listening to you say that make the money now while it’s easy…. because five years from now your F*&#ed…

That’s just great man…. just great…

Kurt

Edit from Matt:
It is easy but there is a steep learning curve. Just follow the steps I laid out in my $1 Million Per Month video. That training is free and it works.

Jennifer July 20, 2010 at 8:24 am

Weird. Not what’s happening at Google.

I wondered about that this morning. I tried to to get some information about cyber cafes in NJ. I wasted at least half an hour doing a Google search before abandoning the search in frustration as I was only directed to different search engines with limited information. Never to a cyber cafe site. Fact, all the search results displayed were search engine sites qith all different criteria for search, Not one cyber cafe site.

I always heard that Google is more interested in serving up the best results to users for what they search for. This morning it occurred to me that that must have changed. I didn’t find the info I was looking for and abandoned the search.

Edit from Matt:
Man I have noticed that SAME THING! Google’s results are getting kinda crappy. Doesn’t look god for them.
Matt

A simple Google search doesn’t do the job anymore. What’s next?

Feeling the squeeze,

Jeennifer

Rodrigo Santiago July 20, 2010 at 8:50 am

Matt, your content is awesome. Thank you for making all of us aware of this next google wave.

I’m inclined to think they’re doing that because of Social Media invasion. People WONT relly that much on search anymore. They can spread their content through word of mouth. They can (and WILL) ask their friends. I often use delicious.com to find really good content. The results are just MUCH better than google’s.

The internet is getting REALLY BIG for google alone. They’re not ‘da kings’ anymore. Specially after Facebook, Twitter and the social bookmarking sites. I don’t buy traffic from google. All my traffic is generated through social media, and I pay a penny for each click. Sometimes I pay a penny for each subscriber. It’s not difficult, you know that. And the king of traffic anyone can leverage through social media is REALLY BIG. I mean REALLY…

Today, I can easily send 1K visitors a day to any location I want with one message inside the market I’m into. You know what I’m talking about: social media is the easy thing today.

Best,
Rodrigo.

Cooking Ninja July 20, 2010 at 10:20 am

That is crazy stuff.
What can anyone do against it? Is it only going to ruin people who PPC or rely on that for their traffic? Wouldn’t that shoot themself in the ppc foot because if THEY are doing their own ‘ppc looking items’ which get all the traffic, then no one will want to ppc with them any more.

What counts as inadequate content?
Are they going to come around judging my low fat or lactose free creamy salad dressing pages? And then if they don’t see enough dressing they’ll make up their own and de-list mine?

Do you think they’re going to do a good job at it, when they do make up their own content areas? Like, I don’t really like some of the content areas such as ‘about.com’ and ‘price grabber’. I don’t think their content is the best, nor is the info, always. So if they have a link I don’t push it, when I search. For some things, ‘fans of it’ always do a better job than hiring someone to get it done.

If they don’t do well with it, people will wise up and not push those ‘sponsored results’ on the top, even if it is google who is sponsoring them and then making up all the content. That’s happened before with other companies/searches…I also wonder what their timeline is on it, apparently they already rolled out with mortgages but it didn’t mention much else.

greg July 20, 2010 at 11:21 am

so Matt, do you have any ideas at this point on what you’ll be doing to keep working as an online marketer?

Edit from Matt:
Hell yeah! I’m taking massive action and getting ahead of the wave!
Watch my $1 million / month video to get an i idea of what I’m doing.

greg July 20, 2010 at 11:22 am

good video by the way, it’s interesting to see what google has in store.

Dave July 20, 2010 at 12:36 pm

Hey Matt

Two comments I have on this:

1) History repeats itself. In any market that grows large enough, large companies eventually beat out smaller ones. Observe, for example, big box stores over boutique stores, the Walmart phenomenon, consolidation of financial services companies through M&A. This is no different. The secret (is it really so secret?) is that to survive, grow and profit *in the long term* you need to grow big. That is, build a >real< company with systems and people, outsourced or otherwise.

2) As knowledge and population grows, there will always be new niches and markets that are underserved, and hence provide opportunities (albeit possibly short-lived) to dominate the niche and profit. And yes, if your business is all about jumping into these niches and profiting while you can, why not? After a while, the big bad companies will arrive with their big box stores (or gargantuan websites) and take over the place.

Trust me though, there are not enough people at any company to cover all the niches. Even with software and massive farms of computers. Oh, and don't forget not all traffic comes from Google or search in general…

David M July 20, 2010 at 1:26 pm

I’m new to this biz…clear to me that the only way to avert this disaster is by putting in place a system of content sites to rival Google. It will however take a massive combined effort and likely with less than the usual profiteering in implementation. In short…we need to change the rules (not let Google set them & abuse…). Negate their monopoly!

For years now, there have been those who made tons of money. Some were not delivering completely…always looking for new ways to milk dry those who needed help. If that approach doesn’t change…we’re all doomed.

What I’m talking about is collectively building a bigger machine than Google. Seem a big challenge? …not impossible!

Peter Dudek July 20, 2010 at 6:23 pm

Dude,

I’ve been wondering for a couple years now how long “they” would continue to allow us to use the Internet.

What other time in the ENTIRE HISTORY OF MANKIND has the “Common Man” had access to communicate so cheaply to so many people?

Never.

I’ve been anticipating the shut down of our access for some time.

I think your estimation of 5 years is generous. I’ll bet we have much less time.

The ONLY thing to do is “burn the candles at both ends” and Implement like CRAZY!

Which is what I’m doing…6 AM to MIDNIGHT…or as close to that as possible.

Thanks for the videos and this course. I’m glad I’m on YOUR team.

*Peter

P.S. Looking forward to more of your detailed plans of how to “make hay while the sun’s still shinin’.”

Coos July 21, 2010 at 2:23 am

You might be right on the money with this.
But if they´re working on it, I suppose it won´t take them (or other major companies) 5 years to apply their new techniques, it will rather be 5 months.

Good thing: they probably will not get active in every niche out there.

Anyway, is your 180 day-course still available?

Terry Lewis July 22, 2010 at 2:24 am

Hi Matt,

F@@K Google they only contribute to 20% of Internet advertising any way. Like any big business they are looking forward for fear of loosing their bottom line too….its only natural. Its people like you and I who have paved the way for them and if you have any sense you to will jump off the Google ship and look for additional way to promote your products/Infomation and there is an abundance of sources out there…..

Graham in UK July 22, 2010 at 2:45 am

Hi Matt
Prophet of Doom! – OMG
Isn’t it lucky for me that the ‘Big Boys’ won’t move into my niche about German Shepherd Dogs!
People want unique good content – not the usual rubbish, this is why Google wants to get involved and is determined to provide what searchers really want.
All the ‘clever’ internet marketers will have to change their ways. Unique, personal content from someone who knows what they are talking about, and have personal experience to back it up, will always remain in the search engine index.

Jimmy July 22, 2010 at 12:53 pm

Google sucks balls!

Let’s boycott their big corporate asses.

New World Order scum.

echo July 24, 2010 at 12:12 am

Google definately can do this. They have eyeballs. remember 10 years back, it was about eyeballs. people didn’t have the monetization at the time. then the crash occured. now people are realizing what eyeballs can do.

It is all due to the search engine power.

Allan Bartelt July 24, 2010 at 10:03 pm

Matt,

We never received Part 1 of this uplifting message. Can you send me a copy?
Also I understand the comments from message #11 by “Kurt” who seems to be one of the few that is brave enough to tell it straight.

Thanks,

The writing has been on the wall for some time. Google stopped being just a search engine years ago as it started expanding its role in the marketing process.
I suggest anyone who uses Google analytics to stop being their unpaid employee by freely giving them valuable market data.
We’ll know when Google’s domination is complete when someday they attract government attention and an antitrust lawsuit.

John July 26, 2010 at 3:44 pm

Matt,

“Don’t be evil,” as Google God likes to say, which is an empty bunch of propaganda, is exemplified in their latest stuff.

The good news, we still have time.

Speaking of time, Matt, can you elaborate on the “tools” for the Kick Ass program?

For example, my best month tells me I could personally crank out 8 sites monthly, not even close to 20 to 50 sites a DAY. Just the research alone is a major time investment just for one market. Is that RELIABLY automated too?

Thanks!
John

mitch mcdonald July 28, 2010 at 2:28 pm

You are definately right on track Matt, but I also noticed in that last article piece that Google is trying to in sorts protect what content and how it is exploited(researched) especially on subjects with inadequate informational pages, am i correct with this? tasers for sale

Edit from Matt:
Yes that’s true!
Very nice link building post. LOL.

nam July 30, 2010 at 10:03 am

Holy Crap! Look, I don’t care what side you guys are on. Weather you think Matt is trying to scare us or that he’s absolutely right. Point is, if you’re not motivated to work hard and take action right after watching this video, then I recommend you use the internet for what 98 percent of the ppl use it for. And thats for porn(just kidding). I’ll never understand why these companies hadn’t gotten it sooner that content is king. I really don’t.

But Matt you make solid points and the pile of evidence is just the kick in the rear end some of us need. This motivates the hell outta me to continue what I’m doing on the IM space. And dood, thanks a lot for that ‘kick ass video’. Since I won’t be enrolling in your program, can you send me a site so I can make a donation to Uganda. Thanks!

Edit from Matt:
Definitely! Just go here. —>JustLikeMyChild
Tell I sent you! :)

Matt, left a couple of emails re your ‘spy on us’ coaching program, no reply to date. I know you are super busy, but does this mean you might be too busy to assist us in your program? or do you have some sort of support set up?

Would you outline what we get for the $5,600 AUD? Yes, I’ve watched the vid numerous times, fantastic by the way. Thanks for putting it up.

Cheers
Alyson

ps if these details have been posted somewhere else and I’ve missed them, apologies, just point me in the right direction.

Edit from Matt:
Sorry, I didn’t get any of your emails. Maybe they went to my spam folder.
Please email me again and I’ll get all your questions answered.

Brad August 1, 2010 at 9:03 am

Good stuff, but as most things I see the scare tactic being used. You do know your stuff. My question is what guarantee do we have that your program will be the answer to our success. Your spy on us coaching is quite expensive & too often I see this stuff so hyped up. My situation is not one of being able to throw away 5k,I am already in the 100s of thousands in debt from a disastrous sinking house I own. Your program appears to be a little like one that Greg Jacobs has which I purchased, it does work a bit but not near the level as described. I am not trying to be negative & I do appreciate the free content, but I can’t keep throwing money away.

Edit from Matt:
My program is only like Greg Jacobs in that it uses blogs and SEO for traffic.
The rest is completely different. It definitely works. I’m showing the exact steps I am doing in my own business and I don’t do stuff in my business that doesn’t work.
All that being said, if you don’t have the money PLEASE DO NOT join my program.
Use the free training I’ve already provided and just take action!
Matt

Brad August 2, 2010 at 3:39 pm

Can you show us some of the automation you talk about. Is your course a lot of instruction or more actual tools. Thanks.

Edit from Matt:
Not sure how to demonstrate automation because a lot of it is done with people.
The training is WAY more about instruction than tools. Tools only accelerate things.

Raymond August 6, 2010 at 4:44 pm

lol – having worked in corporate before (and government) it’s amazing how slow they are to keep up with the technology trends.

Case in point, the multi-BILLION dollar space projects I use to work on would contain components several years old just because of how slow their implementation is.

The same goes with big companies. Big companies = lots of paperwork = lots of people to manage = lots of people to slow down the process.

Internet marketing is constantly changing and advancing. The advantage we have as individuals is to be able to stay ahead of these slow behemoths.

We have to change and innovate or else you’re right, we would all be screwed.

Thanks for the video.

Gary Bloomer The Direct Response Marketing Guy™ September 3, 2010 at 9:13 am

Hey Matt,

Thanks again for what I can only refer to as your butt-kicking, world-shaking wake up call.

In truth, Part 2′s probably struck more chords with me than Part 1 did. But combined, they make for alarming reading/viewing, and Matt? I really, REALLY hope you’re wrong. Truly I do. But you know what? I don’t think you are.

I’ve been following your work for about a year now, (first heard about you/saw you on a video with Frank Kern) and you’ve always struck me as a no BS, this is the way it’s gonna be, pretty spot on kind of guy. Too bad for me I didn’t come across your opinions and advice 3 years ago.

For me BOTH parts of your argument have got me thinking, and as a long-time “behind the scenes” marketing watcher, I also have a few media-based predictions, some of which connect with your video above and the recent events/happenings/activities of Google.

For your reading pleasure I humbly submit the following. http://garybloomer.com/2010/09/is-internet-marketing-doomed/ Hope it’s OK to include a link in the body of a comment … and if not,
feel free to nuke it. Just want to help alter a few people’s perspectives if I can.

You’ve certainly influenced mine.

Jan September 3, 2010 at 6:59 pm

I read an article about this a year or two ago. Sounded like fiction, of course. My mother said, “What GREED!” Well, here we go.

Jerrel September 10, 2010 at 9:08 am

In the year 2010, Google becomes self sufficient and creates its own content for its own advertising platform.

In the year 2018, Google becomes self aware and launches a nuclear campaign on all of humanity.

FUCK

Seriously though, what you’ve informed us of in your videos can be scary. But usually when one window closes there’s another one opening.

It only makes me want to start a company like all things digital through the Philippines right now and sell it for a half a billion in five years.

Think big and kick ass?

Jerrel

Chas November 3, 2010 at 1:33 pm

I noticed that the “content” they patented IS the example you showed on mortgages. The missing “content” people are looking for is a chart of advertisers and comparison of rates. BUT let me mention that Frugal failed. Its’ now Google – shopping and it’s not really a big deal. So while they are looking for “missing content”, it’s really limited to commodities that are very similar yet profitable. It’s not universal, and the wave isn’t going to crash. Crashes only happen when spending is way higher than results. That’s not where we are.
